Jeff Morgan: The Oddballs

Monthly meeting of Tualatin Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. At Lucky Labrador,Multnomah Village, 7675 SW Capitol Hwy. Portland. Wednesday, March. 11,2015. 6:30PM social get-together,formal meeting at 7PM. Free and open to the public. Meeting speaker: Jeff Morgan Topic: "The Oddballs" Jeff Morgan explores the concept of “oddball” trout prey—which includes most of the important North American trout foods, minus the conventional “trout bugs”: mayflies, caddis, and stoneflies. Anglers are familiar with most of the oddballs—grasshoppers, Chironomids, damselflies—however they have not been the subject of any full-length angling/entomological evaluation until now. Other oddballs include: baitfish, dragonflies, crayfish, leeches, sow bugs, terrestrials, etc.; all of them are prey that have consistently proven themselves important to fishermen. Morgan’s in-depth information on these often overlooked food types will have you rethinking your tying and fishing. Based on his book: Productive Trout Flies for Unorthodox Prey: The Oddballs

March 11 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 7675 SW Capitol Hwy. Portland
