As the weather cools off, Amber's fishing will warm up. Expect that trend to continue, baring a major early-September heat spell. Until cooler weather arrives, try Blood Midges fished on the bottom in 20-22 feet of water; use the deep midge tactic.

Waterboatman imitations hit their stride in September. Midge pupa patterns should also be in your fly box. Most of the naturals will be size 18-22.

Immature damselfly nymphs are a good fall choice. Imitate them with a standard damselfly pattern, but tie it small and on a size 16 hook; use tan marabou instead of olive.

A red Woolly Bugger fished deep can do very well on this lake as it cools down. Once it's cooler, though, you may do better with an olive pattern.
