How to Fish

Do NOT dress the fly with floatant! CDC flies should be fished au natural. When a fly no longer floats well, put it in a small container of powdered descicant, such as Dry Shake, and shake it up. This removes the moisture, and you're ready to cast again.

Use standard dry fly presentations. When fishing in rivers, the best places are usually near the bank, especially downstream or downwind from overhanging trees or other vegetation.

While the fly floats low, it can be skated across the surface.

Tying Instructions

1. Tie in tips of 2-3 CDC feathers, try to use good quality CDC.

2. Dub a thin body of sparkle dubbing.

3. Tie in 2-3 strands of Krystalflash for the underwing.

4. Loop CDC around to form bubble wing, position CDC to make it look like a caddis wing from both a side profile and bottom profile.

5. Tie in antennae (optional).

6. Dub small head and whipfinish.
