CDC Superfly
UsesAt first glance, the CDC Superfly and its variation the Superfly look like something tied by an eight-year-old with excess enthusiasm at the vise. Once you understand the fly, however, it starts to look pretty clever, for this is a fly that is intended for the scissors once you're on the stream: the excess parts are clipped away when you see (or suspect) what's going on. One (or more) wings can be whacked off depending on whether trout are taking emergers, duns, or spinners. Same story for the tails.
