Paraloop Callibaetis

Created by Jeff Morgan

Hook: Dai Riki 320, size 12-16

Thread: Gray 6/0

Tails: Dun Microfibbets

Body: Gray turkey biot

Wing: Dun and grizzly saddle hackle, paraloop style

Thorax: Adams gray Superfine dubbing

Uses

Imitates the dun stage of Calibaetis mayflies, a major hatch on stillwaters and the slow sections of some rivers.

This pattern is based on the "paraloop" style of tying wings. For more, see the article Paraloops

Variations

Callibaetis mayflies get smaller and darker as the season gets later, so vary the size and body color to match the prevailing hatches.

How to Fish

Dress the fly with floatant and use standard dry fly presentations.
