Flash: Pearl mylar tinsel

Ribbing: Fine silver wire

Hackle: Brown and grizzly hackle

Thorax: Peacock herl

Head: Orange 8/0 thread

 

Uses

Imitates an emerging midge. The wing pads of midges can take on an orange tint as the midge begins to emerge, and trout may focus on that "hot spot." For more on this subject, see the article Hot Spots.
