BODY: Black foam with front painted white. As an alternative, the bodies can be purchased ready-made from Orvis or in many fly shops.

Uses

Imitates an ant. Ants are terrestrial insects that often fall onto the water from shoreside vegetation. From August through the first frost of fall, ants are handy patterns to carry in your fly box.

Variations

Brown or rust-brown are also effective colors

How to Fish

Do NOT dress the fly with floatant. Use standard dry fly presentations.
