Uses

An excellent choice for a winter steelhead fly because it is easy to tie and you will lose several a day if you use it right.

Variations

Black, purple, and red are all good color choices. For most winter conditions, use a beadhead or nickel eyes for added weight.

How to Fish

Generally fished on a wet-fly swing using a sink-tip line. The fly should travel within two feet of the bottom.
