THREAD: Olive

UNDERBODY: Olive thread

BODY: Gold-fleck jelly tubing

HACKLE: Oliver Edwards caddis legs, or dubbed deer hair

Uses

Imitates the larval or pupal stage of several species of caddisflies.

Variations

Slight variations of color may match caddis species more precisely, but probably aren't necessary.

How to Fish

In rivers, use the indicator, tight line, rising nymph, or shallow nymph presentations.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vise, start thread.


 
2. Tie in jelly tubing at hook bend.


 
3. Wrap thread from forward.


 
4. Wrap jelly tubing forward and tie off.


 
5. Tie in hackle and wrap twice. Tie off hackle


 
6. Wrap head, whip finish, and trim as necessary.
