HOOK: Dai Riki 305, size 14

THREAD: To match body

BODY: Red or copper wire

DUBBING: Red or orange Polor Dub

GLOBS: Formed with red or orange fingernail polish

Uses

An attractor pattern to be used when trout are feeding on Daphnia. For more information, see Dealing with Daphnia.

How to Fish

Use a sinking line and a slow hand-twist retrieve. Finding the right depth can be tricky. For more, see the tactics section of the article Dealing with Daphnia.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vise, start thread.


 
2. Coat hook shank with Elmer's super glue.


 
3. Wrap copper wire body.


 
4. Start threat and dub sparse and loose collar of dubbing


 
5. Whipfinish and cement.


 
6. Apply fingernail polish sparsely to loose fibers. Depending on the type of synthetic dubbing used, you may need to make two coats in order to get the little globules that you want.
