Uses

Variations

Vary the body color to match available trout food. The Flashy Czech performs in almost any color that would be appropriate for scuds or caddis larvaeÑgray, tan, olive, and pink are all appropriate.

How to Fish

Use tight line nymphing tactics. Use this fly as a dropper off a larger Pupatator or stonefly nymph in the late spring and early summer in fast riffles or pocket water.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vise, start thread.

 
2. Tie in tinsel and wire.

 
3. Dub body.

 
4. Pull tinsel over the top as a shellback.

 
5. Wrap wire rib.

 
6. Tie off.

 
7. Dub head.

 
8. Tie off and whip finish.
