Uses

Variations

Vary the size to match the natural insects that are hatching.

How to Fish

While a surface swing is the traditional presentation, you can also use the fly as a dropper off a dry fly or use shallow nymph or rising nymph tactics.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vice, start thread.

 
2. Tie in tail.

 
3. Tie in copper ribbing.

 
4. Dub abdomen.

 
5. Counter-wrap abdoment with ribbing.

 
6. Dub thorax

 
7. Tie in widgeon flank and fold around hook. Tie off.

 
8. Whip-finish, trim, and cement.
