HOOK: TMC 5263, size 2-10. Weight the hook heavily.

THREAD: Black

TAILS: Goose biots

ABDOMEN: Black larva lace

THORAX: Black sparkle dubbing

HACKLE: Black CDC

WINGCASE: Black body stretch

HEAD: Black peacock Ice Dub

ANTENNAE: Black goose biots

  Motion Stonefly

Uses

Imitates a stonefly nymph, especially a salmonfly nymph.

How to Fish

Use trout indicator or tight line tactics. Make sure the fly is on the bottom.

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vise, start thread


 
2. Tie in tails


 
3. Tie in larvae lace, wrap abdomen


 
4. Tie in Body Stretch for wingcase


 
5. Tie in two or three long black CDC feathers


 
6. Dub thorax


 
7. Wrap CDC feathers over thorax


 
8. Pull Body Stretch over thorax and tie off


 
9. Tie in antennae, Leave stubs behind for legs.


 
10. Dub head


 
11. Whipfinish and trim
