HACKLE: Single turn of gray partridge

 

Uses

A simple soft-hackle style of fly that is useful during midge hatches on rivers. It resembles a drifting midge pupa. It's particularly useful in slow water water during the winter.


How to Fish

The fly should be presented sub-surface, but still within the top foot or so of water. Use a wet-fly swing presentation. The fly should move very slowly. Takes are often subtle.
