TAIL: Bronze barred mallard flank

BODY: Thread

THORAX: Dubbed gray muscrat

WINCASE: Tail material pulled over the thorax

 

Uses

A simple pattern for imitating small critters such as midge larva.

Variations

Vary thread color to match nymphs/larva prevalent in the stream or lake.

How to Fish

Streams--Use trout indicator or tight line presentation to dead-drift fly near the bottom; or use as a dropper from a large dry fly.
