The patterns do look good. Hopefully, the glass beads won't break on the bottom rocks.

(I went bead crazy a few years ago and have far too many on hand... my wife can steal as many as she'd like from me but she isn't into bead craft.)

The trouble I have with glass beads is that I break them when I use pliers to remove the hook from a fish. A light coating of epoxy or hard as nails melds the beads together and adds strength.

I forgot about this guy. It's meant to represent a Callibaetis nymph. After taking a look at the natural bug at East Lake, I noticed the nymph color is not completely gray -- as most imitations are tied. There is a hint of very light green to the color of the natural nymph so I blended my own dubbing.

I also know that most nymphs are fairly smooth and glossy on the top of the body and thorax so I use a shellback approach. It does work well at East with either a gold or black bead head.
