Does anyone know if they have changed the regulations in the Park to prohibit felt soles?

I'm sure it is destined to change soon, as is everywhere else. But perhaps I can wear out the boots I have first.

I won't be buying in new with felts since they simply aren't being made much anymore.

Oh, and I'm not saying it's a bad move. I grant that it's probably necessary given the circumstances.

But the stuff sure kept ya from slippin'.

Funny thing is that felt soles are seeing a "re-birth" after the initial push for all-Vibram/Aquastealth/proprietary sticky rubber. Simms, Patagonia, Chota, etc are all offering them.
I switched to Vibram a couple years ago; with studs, they do a pretty good job (although there's a couple spots on the Big Hole where nothing seems to keep me upright), and if there's any snow around they win, hands down. If I had done a little research I could have saved myself some $$ and bought motorcycle ice-road studs instead of Simms.

wonder if the "powers that be" finally realized the these dangerous contaminates don't just ride on the felt soles but: laces/boot top material also... hmmm.
