Here are some links to websites that can be useful to western fly anglers. Links are grouped by subject and by state.

Conservation

Oregon Trout. Largest fish conservation group for Oregon. "Our mission is to protect and restore native wild fish and the habitats that sustain them."

Wild Fish Conservancy. "A science and research-based conservation organization . . . dedicated to the preservation, protection and restoration of the Northwest's wild fish and the delicate ecosystems in which they live."

Native Fish Society. "An advocate for the conservation, protection and restoration of native fishes in the Northwest."

Wild Salmon Center. "Committed to the research and conservation of salmon, trout, steelhead and other native fish and their ecosystems along the Pacific Rim.

Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation. "The mission of the Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation is to support projects that promote conservation, and enhance the public use and enjoyment of Oregon's Fish and Wildlife." Among other projects: the purchase in the 1980s of 12 miles of lower Deschutes River riverbank for public use.

WaterWatch of Oregon. Helps keep water in Oregon's rivers, where fish need it most. "WaterWatch is a river conservation group devoted to restoring and protecting natural flows in Oregon's rivers. We work in the courts, state and federal agencies, and the legislature to ensure enough water is left in our rivers and streams to sustain the fish, wildlife, and people who depend on them."

Oregon Water Trust. Buys water rights in Oregon and leaves the water in the streams. "The Oregon Water Trust mission is to restore surface water flows for healthier streams in Oregon by using cooperative, free-market solutions."

Columbia and Snake Rivers Campaign. Snake River dam issues.

Trout Unlimited. "To preserve, protect, and restore North America's cold water fisheries and their watersheds."

Federation of Fly Fishers. National organization. FFF's three-pronged mission is to conserve, educate, and restore.

American Rivers. "Through national advocacy, innovative solutions and our growing network of strategic partners, we protect and promote our rivers as valuable assets that are vital to our health, safety and quality of life."

Western Rivers Conservancy "Western Rivers Conservancy was founded for the specific purpose of creating significant new refugia along outstanding Western rivers, to be managed for ecological and compatible recreational uses. We have a sixteen-year track record of successful land acquisition, placing over 45,000 acres in permanent protection."

Reel Schematic. Contains schematics of some fishing reels. The only fly reels are those from Hardy and Okuma.

Wilderness Adventures Press. Leading publisher of flyfishing guide books and detailed map books. Website lists over 100 waters, with a detailed description of the water, hatch charts, recommended flies, detailed fishing maps showing river miles, access points, boat ramps, campgrounds, along with GPS coordinates, and more.
