Recipe

HOOK: 1X heavy, standard shank, turned-up eye; e.g. TMC 7999 or equivalent. Sizes 2-6

THREAD: White

RIB: Silver oval tinsel

BODY: Rear half: chartreuse floss. Front half: Purple Hareline STS Trilobal

WING: White calftail

HACKLE: Purple-dyed guinea hackle. Add a few strands of purple Prism Flash

 

Uses

This is a good summer steelhead fly, especially in late summer when flows are low and clear.

Present with a traditional wet-fly swing.
