Thanks for starting July, Stevie. That guy looks pretty vulnerable out there, especially the way I golf!

The well-traveled and perceptive fisherman could probably look at this and guess which river in Oregon I went fishing on yesterday......

Don't know where that is, but that's good. I have one somewhere of a graveyard with a "Dead end" sign.

That's very clever. I'd have expected a lot more bullet holes, though.

Okay I retired 2 months ago...Soc security checks coming an have managed to sell a painting a month for a year and a half now without catering to any schtick...life is good...and the money is...finally after almost 50 years of showing art...AmI bragging ? no...I am just saying that when you reveal your heart and skill long enough sometimes maybe people pay attention and think just maybe this person has something to say...Long haul...

As a retired chemical engineer, I really enjoy photographing industrial facilities. For better or worse, we only have one really dramatic facility near home, so I find myself photographing it a lot.

The first of the tree swallows left the nest box this morning. I was taking pics of the parents and I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye and there it was. After a bit of a nap, it left the tree. Its siblings are not so brave.

The little guy may not have left. I just watched one testing its wings then dive back into the nest box.

              Very cool, Patrick!

I've probably shown this before, but it seemed like a good companion piece to your post.

Thanks Bill. I am not sure others will find this as entertaining as I do. If you are around swallows who are building a nest, throw a feather in the air. They will snatch it out of the air and chase each other around trying to steel it. I did it so often this year (almost a full pack of mallard flank) I often have violet-green swallows fly circles around me when I walk down to get the paper in the morning.

In these photo posts there is almost always something I had never noticed before. They help to make me more attentive when I am out. Fantastic entry- the contrast in the wings with the darker tips- who knew?

Nothing too artsy on my part - just cool subjects (at least in my opinion). Some bugs on my wrist today (this is as close as I have ever come to getting damsel eyes sharp) and wild flowers in the yard - mariposa lilies are all about the flower.
